  1. WOW! Your great grandmother received a card from the Queen herself (if I understood correctly)? That must be a great honor! I bet she really kept it safe. I was not much into royal families before, but I quite like Kate Middleton’s style in the way she dresses more modestly than other famous people, and since she came on the scene I gained a bit more interest in the royals 🙂

    • Oh yes. It used to be that every British citizen/colonial resident/any person whose Queen the Queen was would get a telegram from her on their 100th birthday. Nowadays one gets a colour card. I’m not sure what happened to the card when my great-grandmother passed away. Our family has always been interested in the Royals, ’cause after all, they’re our Royal family!
