Some more ‘thoughts on thoughts‘ for you today :).
“The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.” 1 Peter 4:7
I find that if I’m reading questionable books, watching questionable movies, and listening to questionable conversations, it’s a lot harder to have a conversation with God. If I’m surrounded by questionableness, my thoughts are less likely to be holy.
Last time, I shared an idea for dealing with unwanted thoughts. This week, I’d like to give you some ideas for keeping them away in the first place.
I’ve still updating my Books page, so have a look for some more ideas. All the books on that page I have read, so I can personally recommend them.
Read C.S. Lewis or Edith Schaeffer instead of Stephanie Meyer or Dan Brown.
Watch Courageous instead of The Wolverine.
Listen to Kevin Swanson instead of One Direction.
Read the Bible!
Keep serving God with your thoughts!
I am simply amazed each week at UNITE how so many write on a common theme, not knowing others are also. That is so God! Always exactly what I need! I am sure others at UNITE are also so blessed that writers seek God and write only as He leads them! Thank you! Blessings to you dear friend, Jen

One Direction? It makes me feel sick seeing all those girls with ‘One Direction’ posters plastered all over their walls and even on their pillow covers… Honestly, I don’t see any point in raving about that band so much. It has become their own form of idolatry.
Great post! 🙂

Sadly, yes. And it so happened that, while processing magazines at the Library this afternoon, I found the dear boys staring me in the face….on the cover of teen magazine “Dolly”.
Read “Investigate” or Answers” magazines instead of “Dolly” or “Mad” magazines 🙂

I added reading some “worthy” thing on to my daily list. I finished a bunch of N.T. Wright’s books, a couple by Philip Yancey, re-read some C.S. Lewis etc. It makes a big difference thanks for the encouragement.

I have written on the same thing. Thoughts. What we think comes out in our action or words. Thanks so much for linking up with me this week over at WholeHearted Home.
